Hurt (2024): G#m/93
This is my cover of Johnny Cash's version of Hurt. This song was originally written by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. When he was approached to see if he would let Johhny Cash record this song he was aprehensive as he didn't know what Cash could bring to this song...but he agreed. After Cash released the music video of his version of the song Reznor watched it with some friends and it brought tears to his eyes. He stated "This is no longer my song...it belongs to Johhny Cash". The video is profound indeed and it made me cry a couple times. Cash was going through some rough times...loss and pain...when he recorded the song and video...and it comes across. My first concert was seeing Johnny Cash in Calgary in 1960. I was 9 years old and Mom took me and my brother...she was a big fan. This song has a special place in my heart as does his video.
