Hey Joe (2024): Em/86
Alternate

This is my cover of Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe. I love many of his songs and was hesitant to try to cover his guitar playing. I don't do "note to note covers" and wouldn't be able to do this with Hendrix songs...but I try to get main riffs and licks figured out and then play my own way. Hendrix had the uncanny ability to play lead and rhythm simultaneously...not many guitarists can do that. He did multitrack some parts during recordings and used some delay effects to sound like more than one guitar was playing. I kept the harmony vocals from the JamTrax cover song I bought as I loved the studio singers on this one.
